About Broadway on the Rhine River
Playbill Travel is proud to announce its second European river cruise, Broadway on the Rhine River, which takes place August 13-20, 2017. We begin our adventure in Basel and leisurely sail to Amsterdam, followed by an optional two-night post-cruise stay in Amsterdam.
Together we will discover the picturesque region of Alsace, whose combined French and German heritage has created unique world-renowned cuisine and palate pleasing wines. Beautiful red Geraniums decorate the windowsills of the brightly painted half-timbered houses, which line the cobblestone streets and quiet canals. We will explore the magnificent cities of Strasbourg and Cologne, whose Gothic cathedrals are among the most visited in Europe, and be inspired by the enchanting towns of Riquewihr, Kaysersberg and Rüdesheim.
While it is too early for talent to be announced, please note that at this point last spring we didn’t know our lineup for the Rhône cruise but asked our passengers to believe in our standards and we are very proud to report that on the Rhône cruise we now have a stellar line up. Please be certain we will, as always, have great entertainment and fun activities for all our friends and passengers.
The Rhine River journey will be a combination of excursions and luxuriating onboard as the ship gently passes the beautiful French and German villages, castles, vineyards and countryside. Our plans include copious amounts of wine from the region for your tasting and enlightenment. Our evening plans will have a minimum of 4 nights of concerts and three dinners celebrating the gourmet delicacies of the region. This cruise will be filled with great Broadway entertainment, our sommelier helping us understand the great wines of the region, a day of indescribably good chocolates and delicious foods of the Alsatian and Rhine Graben valleys.
