Broadway on the High Seas 5 in Southeast Asia

Playbill Travel's Broadway on the High Seas 5 sailed from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore from November 4-15, 2015, visiting Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Playbill Travel's fifth voyage, Broadway on the High Seas 5, sailed November 4-15, 2015. Our itinerary was filled to the brim with performances, events, mixers, and carefully curated discussions designed to immerse guests in the world of theatre while exploring the culture of Asia.

Music director Seth Rudetsky helmed our entertainment roster with Broadway's most decorated performers, including two-time Tony winner Christine Ebersole, Tony nominees Norm Lewis, Liz Callaway, Hunter Foster, and Kerry Butler, Annie Award winner Jennifer Cody, Drama Desk winner Rachel York, and Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominee Lindsay Mendez.

As a surprise, we brought along some special guests to share in the merriment! Our dear friend and frequent Playbill Traveler, the great ten-time Tony Award-winning legend Tommy Tune signed on as our Playbill Travel ambassador! Legendary Theatre Hall of Fame recipient Patricia Birch also joined as a special guest!

The extraordinary history, timeless treasures, and exquisite cultures of Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Singapore proved to be the perfect setting for a most magnificent experience.

Ports of Call

Beginning in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and visiting ports in Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore, Ponant's magnificent Le Soléal took guests on a tour of some of the most beautiful destinations in Southeast Asia.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
We began our journey in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), the high-octane heart of Vietnam.
Sihanoukville, Cambodia
Sihanoukville is surrounded by a coastline of white-sand beaches and sun-drenched islands, making it Cambodia's most popular beach destination.
Ko Kood, Thailand
Ko Kood is one of Thailand's last unspoiled island paradises with the softest sand and clearest waters imaginable.
Bangkok, Thailand
The bustling capital of Thailand is a city rich in contrasts and contradictions, an energizing blend of tradition and modernity.
Ko Samui, Thailand
Ko Samui is one of Thailand's most famous beach destinations, settled by Chinese merchants with long stretches of refreshingly wild and shaggy coconut palms.
Tio Man, Malaysia
Tio man Island lies off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, in the South China Sea.
Singapore
Singapore has reinvented itself as one of the world's hottest destinations. It is known for its rich and varied culture comprised of Malay, Asian, Southeast Asian, and European influences.
